Along with recurrent service to the economics profession (e.g., participating on scientific and planning committees for conferences, organizing and chairing sessions, reviewing papers for scholarly journals), I am proud to serve in the following leadership positions.
I have served on the Board of Directors of the Atlantic Canada Economics Association since 2019, including as Vice President (2021-2023), President (2023-2025) and Past President (2025-Present). The Association brings together economists from academia, government and the private sector to facilitate collaboration, as well as the dissemination of economic knowledge and its application to support stability and well-being in Atlantic Canada.
I founded and continue to serve as a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee of the Atlantic Canada Economics Association. Established in 2021, the Committee seeks to understand the challenges faced by the economics profession in Atlantic Canada, as well as potential solutions that are tailored to the region. Our initiatives include: (1) publishing a biannual bulletin to promote the work and achievements of economists from equity-deserving groups; (2) organizing conference sessions and keynote lectures to disseminate economic research on DEI-related issues and to elucidate the role of economists in advancing science and policy in this area; (3) facilitating professional development opportunities for current and prospective economists, such as mentoring sessions at the annual conference; and (4) conducting research on DEI in the economics profession in Atlantic Canada.
As a faculty member at the University of Maine (2016-2025), I served on the Executive Committee of the Canadian-American Center. As a leading institute for the study of Canada in the United States, the Center coordinates undergraduate and graduate programs in Canadian Studies, promotes cross-border research, and directs outreach to state, regional and national audiences.
